Is it better ettiquette for a lady to keep her knees touching each other on the toilet?

touching/as close to each other? It may be more practical to have them far apart, but it seems like poor ettiquette.
I think the whole principals of etiquette are relating to how other people see you and how you are percieved by your behaviour – acting in a certain way gives certain perceptions to other people so I don’t personally think there is etiquette attached to how you sit onthe toilet as no-one is there to see you!

It’s natural for knees to sit slightly apart from each other when a man or a woman are seated, or a woman crosses her legs. Therefore, of course a females legs will be slightly apart when she’s seated on the porcelain throne. Do men sit with their knees pressed together when they take a poo?
Before toilets were invented people had to squat, so their legs were definitely apart.

We practice etiquette for the sake of other people and primarily the public.
There is no need for politeness when taking care of personal things that don’t involve anyone else. Why interfere with people’s privacy?
Will there soon be a law that it is more polite to put your right shoe on before your left one? That you should soap up your arms before your legs when you are in the shower? Leave personal life alone! How a person wants to use the bathroom is their business.
Incidently, a lady’s best position is comfortable. A lady doesn’t have to always make herself uncomfortable for the sake of others even when she is using the bathroom!
If a woman has to do it, so should the man. Did you know its more polite for a man to hold his legs together when he goes to the bathroom too? HA! That didn’t go over very well, did it?
I bet you are a guy who was spying on a woman in the bathroom and looking for a reason to criticize her and make her feel bad about who she is. Ladies are ladies even when their legs are open. Do you suppose a lady isn’t a lady when she has her legs wide open giving birth to you?

What possible etiquette could there be for sitting on the toilet? Etiquette is for when you are around other people; I think most people are alone when sitting on the toilet. How harsh to want to dictate how a person sits during an alone, intimate moment.
