Black. Preferable india ink. And it is in the same train of thought that we get, Black-tie affair, for formal event. And please use the proper parchment.

Don’t know what Emily would say, but I think black is used for formal invitations and correspondence.

You may also choose to print your invitations with colored ink. Although black ink is the traditional choice, colored inks can enhance your wedding colors beautifully.
